Salty 2 Back 2 Back Drama A Ghetto Soap Opera Series Salty A Ghetto Soap Opera edition by Aleta Williams Literature Fiction eBooks

I loved this part to the series! Some people will never learn though. Jazz is still dealing with the death of her mother and misses her terribly. I wish she were still alive too....so she can smack some sense into Jazz! She is too nice and trusting to the wrong people.

Jazz relies on support from her boyfriend Diesel, his sister Laurie (who is her best friend) & their mother. Jazz lives with them and tries to make the best of her situation considering that her family (Aunt Trina & cousin Yay-Yay) are grimy to the core! The situation is okay but the problem is that Diesel holds resentment against Jazz and randomly lashes out. In the background is Ken who has always crushed on Jazz. Laurie swears up & down that Ken is her man so of course you know there's some drama behind that one right?

Yay-Yay is still up to her old ways. She will get what she wants no matter who she has to step on. She got it from mother though. (Please refer to Salty: A Ghetto Soap Opera (Drama In The Hood) &Salty 2: Back 2 Back Drama ( A Ghetto Soap Opera Series) for the mess that her mother was on!
White Girl is caught up in Yay-Yay's web of deceit. I won't spoil it but I actually feel sorry for White Girl at the storm that came her way. Yay-Yay does the unthinkable in this one & at the end she has to question herself: did I go too far this time?

In the meantime Pastor G is still around mourning Pam's death (Jazz's mom) & vows to settle the score. We get to see how hectic things become in his world on his quest for revenge. Some people from the first 2 parts of Salty show up here & lend an interesting twist to things. Great story & Aleta Williams please don't make us wait too long for the next installment!

Salty 2 Back 2 Back Drama A Ghetto Soap Opera Series Salty A Ghetto Soap Opera edition by Aleta Williams Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

I have been seeing this series in my recommendations and I finally purchased it on a whim...very happy that I did. I've read part 1 and part 2 and just began part 3. I was going to write my review once I finished the entire set, but realized I may forget some things; I will add my review for part 3 as soon as I am finished with it. Now...where shall I begin????

Part 1.
This first installment introduces us to the main characters, Jazz, Yay-Yay, Pam (Jazz's mother), Ken and Peter, Diesel, Laurie, white chick aka Savannah, her pimp Wack, and Sabrina. Jazz is a typical teenager who does not live in the projects, skip school with delinquent/hot friends, or have a dope head mother. She is actually lucky enough to see and experience the nicer things in life. We read about her relationships with the other characters and the author did a great job making sure they were developed and the scenarios were realistic. Yay-Yay is one scandalous BEEP who only cares for herself and hates to see others (especially Jazz) happy. Jazz is very naive and gullible in the beginning, however, towards the end she starts to see Yay-Yay and Peter for what they really are SNAKES. This first part will bring out all kinds of emotions from you because you really feel attached to the characters...at least I did. I usually only read while I'm at work but this book was so good I found myself rushing to get home so I could read what happened next. If Urban Fiction is your genre, this is an excellent recommendation for you.

Part 2.
Now this is the part where things begin heating up! Secrets are revealed from part 1 and background stories are told on the other characters (such as what started the beef between Jazz's mom Pam and Yay-Yay's mom Trina, how Sabrina ended up where she was in life, Stacy and Wack...etc) Characters relationships were revealed between each other and they were COMPLETE SHOCKS. I didn't see that 6 degrees of separation coming but it definitely made it more interesting. Wack is a despicable man and I really hope in Part 3 he gets what he deserves. Yay-Yay laid low in this book since her disfigurement but I knew she wasn't going to stay away long. She reappeared towards the end of this installment and I think this is just the quiet before the storm...
Diesel's true colors are exposed and Im anxious to see how him and Jazz continue in their relationship...if white chick allows it. More betrayal, more secrets, more lies, more sex, and more deciet! It just keeps getting better... D

Part 3.
This by far was my favorite book. It picked up exactly where 2 left and drama began on page one. Yay-Yay is her father's child and will stop at nothing to get what she wants. "By any means necessary!" is her motto. I really ended up feeling sorry for White Girl. I thought she was just as sneaky and low as Yay-Yay but she is sadly, a product of her environment. Diesel's character did a complete 180 and his actions were shocking. Pastor G did a 180 also, but in a good way. That "G" doesn't just stand for Gary;) Laurie, Diesel, Mrs. Kenslow, Red, Mrs. Lewis, and Wack...smh. I hope in part 4 they ALL get what they deserve! I was surprised by the turn of events. More past relationships and secrets were revealed and ulterior motives came to light. Usually when authors have series or sequels, they're never as good as the first. I can honestly say this is an exception. It gets better and better! The ending was worthy of a Blockbuster summer hit. I can not finish the next installment soon enough.

Now, of course everything wasn't perfect with this series. The first part did not flow in chronological order. There were many flashbacks that went from years to hours. Often times the characters would speak in past AND present tense within the same sentence and as with most editions, there were a few grammatical errors. Did it make the books any less entertaining or intriguing? Not at all. If you can get past the first part, give it a chance The others are written and edited much better.
Welcome to the world of jealousy, deceit, and just pure craziness. Jazz is trying her best to live right in her crazy environment, but with family like Yay Yay it is hard. Yay Yay is truly a product of her environment. No one has ever showed her love which has turned her into a bitter person that cares about only Yay Yay. Jazz has also been trying to save herself, will she be able to hold out or will she let surrounding influences break her? She has a choice to make, the bad boy that is no good for her or the good boy who may be as good as he seems. Salty will have your eyes glued to the pages, with hours slipping away without you even noticing. The Diva Aleta has graced us with another hit. Get your copy NOW!!!!
